8 Months Old

26 Oct

Today Henry is 8 months old and I couldn’t be more excited about it. He is finally at the age where I can’t get enough of him! I may sound callous, but I personally think the infant phase sucks. There are some people who love newborns. Not me. There are some people who can’t get enough of what I call the “blob phase.” I am not one of those people.

From 7 months on, however, Continue reading

Great Things!

23 May

1.  Greatest hubby ever!  Vacuuming, while carrying Henry and drinking coffee…

Nothing could be more sexy

2.  The brothers are falling in love…

Cuddle time! Watching Barney, of course…

3.  Henry rolled over for the first time unassisted this morning!

4.  As of this morning, my stomach is starting to get some definition back.  I’ve still got a long way to go, but progress has been made!

5. Last, but certainly not least, Henry gave us a 5 1/2 hour stretch last night.  Hallelujah!

Newborn Photos

10 May

This photo shoot did not go as well as the maternity shoot.  We did it on Charlie’s 2nd bday, in the afternoon, the boys were both cranky and it was my first time alone with both kids. Needless to say, I was a little high strung.  We did get a few great shots, though.

This is pretty much the state of both boys during the shoot… Continue reading

Pumped to be a Bridesmaid

7 May

I was in a wedding this weekend. While I was super excited to celebrate such a festive occasion and to represent the bride, I also was bummed to be in a wedding 2 months postpartum.  Not only would I have to pump and dump, but honestly, I am a lot bigger than my “normal” size.  While I knew the day was not about me, I’m not gonna lie and say I didn’t Continue reading

There, I said it…

1 May

Henry was a pro at breast-feeding right out of the gates. I was lucky! He latched on instantly and it didn’t hurt at all.  From that moment on I thought our breast-feeding relationship would be smooth sailing.  Unfortunately, smooth sailing it wasn’t. Henry had a tiny mouth and I had new mama Continue reading

2 Months

26 Apr I'm 2 Months Old Today!

This morning we celebrated the 2 month anniversary of Henry’s birth with a jammies photo shoot.  It wasn’t planned. We realized we had about another 10 minutes before Henry melted down and wanted to take the photos as quickly as possible.  Guess I didn’t have to spend time picking out a cute outfit for both boys after all. :)

Happy 2 Months on this planet, Hank!

I'm 2 Months Old Today!

Here's a little of my profile for you...

Me and my Big Bro

And, while I know you aren’t supposed to compare, I can’t help but post Charlie’s photo from 2 months old…

Charlie at 2 months old 4-10-10

4 weeks old

25 Mar

It’s hard to believe that Henry is already 4 weeks old. Tomorrow he will be a month old when calculating date (Feb 26) to date (March 26). Obviously, I will post his 1 month picture tomorrow.  Today, to celebrate his 4 weeks on this planet, here is his POST birth video.

Check out how many doctors and nurses are in the room. I don’t know if you can tell, but when I counted that day we had 15 in the room besides Larry and myself. Also if you listen carefully you can hear them calling my OB on the phone to tell her the baby arrived.  Also, the nurse in the background is giving her account of the baby just “sliding out.”  Crazy!

Happy 4 week birthday, Henry!

Our 2nd Labor Day

5 Mar

“Baby No Name” was due March 2nd, but considering I had Charlie at 35.5 weeks I was ready for this baby to arrive weeks ago.  Starting at 38 weeks I decided I would try every urban legend in the book to induce his arrival.

Update: Hand Foot Mouth

14 Dec

I have heard that some babies are no worse for the wear when they get HFMD.  Charlie is not one of those babies.  He is miserable beyond words.

Guilt. It comes with the territory.

30 Sep

Besides my  low milk supply and my overabundance of eternal guilt about not providing enough food for my child, Charlie also had acid reflux and colic.  Oh yay! Another reason to feel even more guilty.  I took personal responsibility for his “immature digestive system” as it was called by the doctors.  It was my milk that was making him reflux.  It was my milk that was hard for him to digest.  Rationally I knew I was a good mom, but I felt horrible that I couldn’t make him better.
