4 weeks old

25 Mar

It’s hard to believe that Henry is already 4 weeks old. Tomorrow he will be a month old when calculating date (Feb 26) to date (March 26). Obviously, I will post his 1 month picture tomorrow.  Today, to celebrate his 4 weeks on this planet, here is his POST birth video.

Check out how many doctors and nurses are in the room. I don’t know if you can tell, but when I counted that day we had 15 in the room besides Larry and myself. Also if you listen carefully you can hear them calling my OB on the phone to tell her the baby arrived.  Also, the nurse in the background is giving her account of the baby just “sliding out.”  Crazy!

Happy 4 week birthday, Henry!

Our 2nd Labor Day

5 Mar

“Baby No Name” was due March 2nd, but considering I had Charlie at 35.5 weeks I was ready for this baby to arrive weeks ago.  Starting at 38 weeks I decided I would try every urban legend in the book to induce his arrival.

Uncharted Territory

30 Jan

Today I am 35 weeks and 3 days pregnant.  Beginning tomorrow I chart course for something I’ve never done before: carry a baby past 35 weeks and 4 days.  That’s right, gang. I went into labor with Charlie at 35 weeks and 3 days.

You would think that I would be more prepared in case the same situation should arise Continue reading

Accident Prone Mama

11 Jan

I wrote this post on December 14th and forgot to post it. Better late than never!!

I’m accident prone. Generally, when I tell my friends a story about a scenario that has resulted in some kind of injury they respond with, “why am I not surprised?”  Sometimes, when something crazy or out of the ordinary happens to a friend they’ll call me and say something like Continue reading

Bored with a side of Itchy Butt

12 Nov

I was put on temporary bed rest because I almost fainted while training a pilates client this morning.  More than likely, it was due to a drop in blood pressure, but because my last pregnancy was high risk, we take extra precautions with this one. I’m bored out of my mind and wish that I could enjoy having a house to myself, but it isn’t so easy when you are forced to lay on your left side and drink 10 cups of water.  Great! That’s just what my squished bladder needed.  I digress.

While pregnant with Charlie I went into preterm labor at 14 weeks and then again Continue reading

It’s a…

BOY!!!

That’s right, Charlie’s gonna have a little brother!  I don’t know why the image isn’t as clear as the one scanned below, but at least it’s labeled for your ease of viewing.

And so we just don’t leave you with a between the legs shot, here he is from the side…

Our Lil' Man

I shall hereby refer to myself as The Queen Bee from this day forward.  Feel free to do the same.

Our New Extended Family… hopefully!

After interviewing multiple (10) nannies and firing 2, we came to the conclusion that we may not be the best candidates for a nanny at this time.  We are open to revisiting the idea once #2 arrives in March, but until that time we are very hopeful and excited about sending Charlie to a home daycare.  We actually interviewed a bunch of daycares before we originally decided on a nanny, but y’all know what happened there.  So, here we are back at daycare.

Charlie’s secret…

2 Sep

I recently found a website that makes t-shirts called, Simply Colors.  I was so excited to find the site because I really, really wanted to order Charlie a fun shirt.  I know there are plenty of places design shirts online, but the price was right and I liked that the front and back were both open territory for design at no additional charge. The site was also very user-friendly, the shirt was super easy to create and they had it delivered within a week.

He’s already worn it a few times and the reaction we get is always great.

What do you think?

Here’s the front:

Charlie enjoying corn on the cob in his personalized shirt.

Unfortunately, this is the only pic I got of him sitting still enough to read it.

Here’s the back:

Pretty fun shirt, right?

Yep, I’m pregnant!  Today will be 14 weeks. Our lil one is due March 2nd, 2012. 8 days before Charlie’s 2nd birthday.

Hopefully this explains why my blog has been kinda dark recently. I’ve been crazy tired, gang.  Oh and its also the other reason it suddenly became so important to find a nanny.  I still owe an update on that one, btw.

In other news, I found the blog that I started when I was pregnant with Charlie.  I thought I lost it, but rediscovered it a couple of weeks ago. The blog wasn’t too comprehensive but it is fun to compare this pregnancy to what I wrote about during the last one.  I will try to include some of the comparisons from the two going forward.
